People and animals are born with a sense for numbers
"You work it out," is what people usually say to me when we need to split a bill in a restaurant. The idea is that since I'm good at maths, I must be good at mental arithmetic. But in my case, and that of several mathematicians I know, that idea is wrong. I'm pretty bad at doing sums in my head, much worse than some of my friends who are self-proclaimed maths-phobes. find out more

Interesting. I like to play the games with general arithematic on the Easiteach program with the students so I stay in practice. We make it a race, them verse the teacher. They get to write all problem if need be and I can only use my mind.
ReplyDeleteI think that we are all at an equal level it's just a different way of communication, and where our habitat is people wouldn't survive in the jungle naturally so animals are cool.
ReplyDeleteWe would like to play with Easiteach as well but still couldn't install the program. But it is definitely fun to play. I remember it from the in-services.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty strange that animals could do that,I alaways thought that animals were colorblind. But I can see how it makes sense, espically for wild animals, unlike our domestic house cat pets.hahaha.
